Enjoy the magic atmosphere of the charming Christmas Markets
Ginger, cinnamon, cloves… only for you, all the fragrances and colors of the most beautiful Christmas Markets of Trentino, South Tyrol and Belluno.
As tradition goes, it’s again that time of the year when the tourist centers of the Dolomites get all dressed up in the warm colors and sweet fragrances of the gaudy, glittering and tasty Christmas Markets. Nothing’s better than strolling among the stands, guided by the spicy scent of freshly baked cookies or the wonderful aroma of cinnamon given off by warm cups of mulled wine, basking in the bright lights and pleasant atmosphere.
If you want to make your Christmas all the more special by visiting a Christmas Market, the Dolomites are the right place to go: Brunico if you are one for traditions, Bolzano, which with its 80 stands is the biggest of South Tyrol, if you think that size matters, or Merano if you like your market lively and colorful. And then there are of course the Christmas Markets of Trentino, such as the ones of Levico and Trento, or those in the Bellunese area, from the famous one of Cortina to the cozy one of Belluno.
What’s better than some Christmas shopping in the decorated alleys and squares of the tourist centers? The typical wooden stands offer in fact a large variety of products and gift ideas: handicrafts, Christmas decorations, wooden toys for your children, and of course tasty local delicacies. And if after strolling around for a while you start feeling a bit cold, a sweet way of warming you up is a good cup of mulled wine with some hot roast chestnuts.
